As a Global Ambassador, Mark is responsible for the development of, among other things, our Color and Style collection.

Mark develops education programs and provides training at the International Keune Academy, with which he inspires other Keune talents and lifts them to an even higher level. Shows, campaign shoots, content creation and jury for the Keune Hairstylists Awards are also on the program.

Who is Mark?

Mark van Westerop is founder and creative director of Pro-Solo Hairartist, Alkmaar Netherlands. Active for more than 30 years in what he describes as the most exciting and inspiring profession there is: "The hairdressing profession never stands still and every season there are new developments in technology, products and fashion expressions that you have to master." He has been named Hairdresser of the year three times and Pro-Solo Hairartist was named the best team for the sixth time.

Pushing boundaries

The groundbreaking hair creations of Mark and his team can often be seen in various international and national magazines such as Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, Elle and Marie-Claire. They also work together at various fashion shows including; Tommy Hilfiger, SuperTrash and Iris van Herpen. He also participates in the development of creative campaigns for fashion brands such as Sisley, Marie-Jo and United Nude.

"If you want to reach the top of the hairdressing profession, you have to keep developing. Staying sharp, self-reflection and hard work is essential. Stylists who are just starting out and really want to make a career in our profession must be open to training, volunteering and dare to make mistakes".
