Braids for every hair type

Braiding works for every hair type. All you need is the right hair care. Use some Salt Mist for extra grip. Tame your wild hairs and secure the braids with our Forming Wax so that you can braid and twist your hair as you like. Once it's all in place, set it with our Soft Mousse. It locks in moisture and helps keep your braids looking beautiful for longer.

Combining braids

In our Summer look, you can see how we've created an edgy look by combining different types of braids. Want to try this hairstyle? Follow the tips from our hair stylist.

In this look, loose braids are combined with cornrows for a bold and playful effect.

Start with clean and tangle-free hair

Before you start braiding, it's essential to ensure that your hair is clean, tangle-free, and hydrated. Begin by dividing your hair into sections using a pointed comb or your fingers. The number of sections depends on the desired style and the thickness of your hair. For cornrows, create small, even sections along the scalp, while for loose braids, gather larger sections of hair.

Tips for cornrow braiding

To achieve the classic cornrow look, follow these steps:

  1. Cornrows are narrow braids that sit close to the scalp. Create partings in the hair where you want the cornrows. You have complete freedom in this.

  2. Apply a small amount of Forming Wax to each strand of hair to help the braids stay in place longer.

  3. Use the underhand braiding technique: move the hair strands under each other instead of over each other.

  4. Take your time and maintain tension on the hair. This will keep the braids neat and tight. Continue in this manner and gradually add more hair from the scalp while braiding.

  5. Braid all the way to the ends and secure with a small elastic band.

  6. Fix the braid with a bit of Freestyle Spray.

Tips for loose braids

A tip from our hairstylists for a beautiful look: combine tight braids with loose braids for a unique hairstyle. Follow these steps:

  1. Take a larger section of hair and divide it into three equal strands.

  2. Spray a bit of Salt Mist on the strands for extra grip and volume.

  3. Cross the right strand over the middle strand and then the left strand over the middle. Braid in this way and take hair from the sides while braiding.

  4. Braid all the way to the ends and secure with an elastic band.

  5. Fix with the Soft Mousse. It locks in moisture and helps keep the braids tight and frizz-free for longer.

For extra flair, you can experiment with different partings, such as zigzag or diagonal partings.
