With many different types of hair products, it is sometimes difficult to know when to use which product. For example, many people wonder what pomade is. In this article, the Keune hair experts give you the answer to the question: what is pomade and how do you use pomade?

What is pomade?

Pomade is a wetter styling product that lends itself perfectly to the slick look. This look is best known from the 50s and 60s. A pomade gives a shiny end result and does not become hard so that your hair remains combable. In addition, most pomades are very easy to wash out, because they are made on a water basis.

Our favorite: 1992 by J.M. Keune Original Pomade. A firm pomade that keeps the hair in good shape.

How do you use pomade?

When you have the time, you can use a pomade as a real barber would. Before you start, it is important that your hair is damp. You take some pomade on your fingers and spread this strand by strand over your hair. Then you comb layer by layer back or sideways, just how you want it. If you have less time, you can also do this faster by combing your entire hair back immediately. The only thing you have to take into account is that you distribute the pomade well over the hair. Enjoy the slick look! Fun fact: pomade already existed in the 18th century and was then still made from bear fat.
