The Keune Group
In 1995 Keune and the Amerpoort Foundation started an employment project for people with a mentally handicap. The Amerpoort Foundation is an umbrella organization with among others employment centre “ De Wissel", a sheltered workshop for mentally handicapped people.
De Wissel already carried out quite some packaging for Keune, especially products that require a lot of handling. In 1995, when the new premises was occupied at the Koningsweg in Soest, it was easier for both Keune and De Wissel to integrate the employees in the new factory and moreover, it guarantees an on line Quality Assurance.
Nowadays, they have their own conveyor belt and they operate under the name Keune Group.
Every day about 17 employees come to Keune. They work with constant supervision and the supervisors are aware of the abilities of each employee. To avoid stress, there is no productive strain. All employees work as best and as hard as they possibly can.
The most worthy of mentioning is that all employees feel that they are really part of Keune. They have a great time and enjoy their work. The biggest advantage is that the employees' behaviour has changed in a positive way. Going to work every day, give their lives an extra dimension and the feeling that they really contribute to society.
