KEUNE MILESTONES
1922 Keune Haircosmetics was established on January 6, 1922, by Jan Keune, a certified chemist, in the city of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
1923 Jan Keune focused on the development of perm formulas, which made him the first European perm formula manufacturer.
1927 The production of a hot perm is started. For the very first time, a Dutch product becomes well-known at hairdressing salons worldwide.
1947 The company celebrates its 25th anniversary.
1949 Keune manufactures a chemical, lecitol-based sachet. It can develop a temperature of 120° - 150° C (248° - 302° F), and is a big competitor for the famous perm wave machine.
1950 Keune introduces hairspray on the Dutch market.
1951 Cold Wave, a cold perm formula, is launched on the market.
1956 After the success of hairspray, the first aerosol hairspray of Europe is launched.
1968 New premises are opened, 6 times the size of the old ones. The president, George Keune, has made Keune well-known worldwide.
1972 A new, foreign branch is opened in Strassbourg, France.
1987 The French branch moves to Paris; the cradle of cosmetics. Keune becomes an appreciated player on the French market.
1995 Keune opens a new 20,000-square-meter high tech factory. New premises are under construction in Soest, the Netherlands. All modern architectural, security and environmental technologies are integrated in the new factory.
1998 Keune opens a branch office near Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A.
2001 Keune opens a branch office in Basel, Switzerland
2002 Keune opens a branch office in Brussels, Belgium
2002 The company celebrates its 80th anniversary. Extensions for warehousing and shipping are under construction.
2004 Keune acquires a new logistic centre of 10.000m2 adjacent to the existing warehouse.
2006 Introduction of concept BLEND 'Create your Style'
2008 Keune opens a new office at the Champs Elysées in Paris, 300 meters from the Arc de Triomphe.
